Central Register of Cerebral Palsy Patients

Central Register of Cerebral Palsy Patients
The Central Register of Cerebral Palsy Patients (CRCPP) is a web-based system which monitors clinical data for patients with prenatal, perinatal and early childhood damage of the upper motor neuron whose consequences constitute the cerebral palsy syndrome.
The objective of the group which develops CRCPP is to create a systemic tool aimed to reduce the risk that clinically neglected cerebral palsy patients will be present within the region where the system is in place.
The specific aims of CRCPP include reduction of the number of patients with extreme nutritional disorders, neurogenic spinal deformities, hip joint dislocations and suffering from somatic pain.
The system is designed as an interactive expert system for general practitioners and paediatricians to review recommended treatment procedures meant to solve the clinical issue found in a registered patient. It will also highlight certain deteriorating clinical status parameters or necessity of additional tests for a patient.
In addition, the system, extended with a complete reporting functionality, will enable system administrators to comprehensively and collectively control the status of patients and to separately analyse any existing clinical risks and current complications found in registered patients in detail.
Territory: the system will ultimately include the whole of Poland.
In the initial period clinical trials will include the Wielkopolska region only . Gradually, it will cover other provinces of Poland. The current implementation plans include the Wielkopolska region only as the area where the CRCPP will be in place.
